Why is the Catholic school girl look always appealing to both men and women when I am sure it evokes a fountain of emotion? Don't ask me, I am a Jewish girl. Seriously though, women see a possibility to look sophisticated and chic while men's brains are automatically drifting south....As a stylist (and part-time shrink) I will venture to put forth the concept that you can have it all with this classic look. Sex appeal and respect in the boardroom. Obviously a few changes must be made to the typical school girl look in order to accomplish this.
This particular outfit is perfectly pairing together all of the ideals we hope for out of school girl chic. The plaid skirt is bold and an appropriate length. Adding the tights not only creates warmth, but adds an office ready aspect by covering bare legs. The yellow sweater is the pop of color necessary to make you stand out. Pairing it with an un-tucked white button down creates depth and loosens up the rigid feeling this look could have. The beret, layered pearls and loafer style heels are the stylish additions that compliment the overall feel of the always appealing school girl look. Never go to the principal's office again (at least not for bad style).
